SHTF - Clay pot refrigerator
If any of you have read "One second after" you remember the loss of his daughter because the insulin went bad.
Was thinking of how we would deal with such a situation. Once again a lo-tech solution lends itself to a solution
a clay pot refrigerator. Used by our forefathers and many people in the third world (which is what we will be
without power) have used for centuries. Yea I know, I'm stuck in a different century, son calls me L.T. (lo-tek).

The clay pot!! Gotta love it. I also saw where you can make a heater out of clay flower pots somewhere. I will try to find it and share it.

I have a profound appreciation for these kind of posts where you can create useful things from everyday stuff without fancy tools and parts, thanks!!

I know right!!! Like the other day I was looking at a #10 can stove i made. Simple... So as I turned away, I looked at my stove top coffee pot. I thought, how can I make one out of cans?? I got coffee pots a plenty!!! BUT!! Not one I have made from "trash". So, its in the planning stage but hope to complete in a week or two.
That pot heater, I sent that to a friend of mine a year or two back. He is not into this kind of stuff but needed to keep his workshop bathroom warm. He loved it. Made one and uses it still. Heats a small bathroom with a little bit bigger than a tea lite candle. He uses one about the size of those smell good kind...

Just a heads up , the article says it doesn't work well at all in high humidity. I'm in ga, so that is pretty important info.
